A Bay Area native, Brittany Weldon migrated to the east coast for college and medical school, taking time off for a brief career in journalism and a Fulbright research project in Taiwan. She returned home for residency at Children’s Hospital and Research Center Oakland, and has been in love with working with newborns and their families ever since. For almost 10 years after residency, she worked in the Intermediate Care Nursery at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford, attending high risk deliveries, taking care of sick and healthy newborns, and helping to guide parents through the journey of welcoming a new baby into their lives. She formed Newborn Transitions to bring that same care and guidance to the home, so that she can help parents navigate the first month of life in the way that feels right to them, to help every family achieve its goals around caring for their new loved one.
In her free time, she enjoys exploring with her creative and curious daughters, reading with her husband, caring for her many pets, cooking and traveling.
